I was thinking a little bit about the modern projects I know of involving exoskeletons and powered assistance systems. From what I've seen, they don't actually boost the user's strength, but more enhance it. Perhaps that would be an interesting twist for powered loaders and powered armor in Alternity.

Instead of a suit increasing the wearer's strength to 18 or 20, the unit instead reduces the effective mass of lifted objects by x%. For example, a PL6 suit of powered armor, such as powered attack armor, would reduce the effective mass of a soldier's gear by 25%, and a powered loader would reduce the cases being stacked by a crew member by 35%. At PL7, these numbers climb to 50% and 75%, respectively. There can also be a maximum load the system can handle, say 100kg at PL6 and 150kg at PL7.
